Summary

Allied Global Marketing is looking for a temporary, part-time Human Resources Assistant to join our 4-person HR team for a period of 6 months. The HR Assistant will have outstanding administrative and communication skills, provide support for day-to-day operational tasks and employee inquiries, and assist with current team projects. Our ideal candidate has a general understanding of HR processes, is a team player, and is eager to jump in and learn. This position reports into our Boston, MA office.

 

Essential Functions

  • Provides support for onboarding, benefits administration, reporting, auditing, personnel record management, recruiting, leaves of absence, offboarding.
  • Maintains the department’s email account, answering general HR questions/requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintains personnel files and the integrity of employee data.
  • Assists with employee requests such as address changes, employment verifications, etc.
  • Completes I-9 verifications and complies with filing and reverification requirements.
  • Administers employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Supports recruiting activities for select roles as needed, including initial resume review, scheduling interviews, candidate correspondence, and completing reference checks.
  • Helps ensure employment practices are compliant with federal and state laws.
  • Drafts and/or edits process documentation, policies, team communications, and training materials.
  • Conducts research on evolving HR laws, trends, and best practices.
  • Assists with HR projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of relevant Human Resources, administrative, or customer service experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Human Resources practices and labor laws.
  • Experience working with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), UKG/UltiPro a plus.
  • Familiarity with recruiting processes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information/data with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, adaptable.
  • Proficient with the MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

 

Details

  • Hours: 25 hours per week
  • Compensation: $25/hour
  • Term: up to 6 months
  • Location: The ideal candidate is located in the Greater Boston area, with ability to work from our Boston office (101 Huntington Avenue) at least one day per week.
  • Background Check: The finalist for this position will be required to complete a criminal background check.
